Plymouth Colony
- Founded in 1620 by a group of separatists (the Brownist Emigration and Anglicans) who later became know as the "Pilgrims".
- Reasons for Plymouth Colony's establishment was the Pilgrims wanting religious freedom and seeking that freedom in the colonies and also the factor of simply hoping to find a better life away from England. The Pilgrims wanted to get away from the persecution in England.
- William Bradford: English Separatists leader who signed the Mayflower Compact. Governor 5 times which was around 30 years.

- Relationship with Native Americans was good. One Native American, Squanto, helped the Pilgrims with settling and life in the Americas. Colonists made sure to keep good relations with the Native Americans of their area.
- King Philips War (1675-1678): Also known as the First Indian War or Metacom's Rebellion. An armed conflict between Native Americans in New England and English colonists with Native American allies. Named after main leader of the Native American side, Metacomet, which translates into English as "King Philip". War went on until a treaty was signed in April 1678. Considered one of the deadliest wars in American history. In one year, 12 towns were destroyed and others badly damaged. The colony's economy was ruined while the population lowered.
- Pequot War (1636-1638): An armed conflict between the Pequot tribe and the English colonists of Massachusetts Bay, Plymouth, and their Native American allies. Pequots lost the war where 700 of them were killed or taken captive. Those taken captive were sold into slavery while survivors dispersed.
- Later was merged with the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
